(Temecula Head Instructor: Skillz & Krav Maga)

I Started Martial Arts at 3 years old in a traditional system for 7 years.  At 10 years old my dad made a switch to Krav Maga, which I have been studing ever since.  I have been teaching for over 10 years.  I attend seminars all over the country to better educate myself.  Each seminar is different but either helps me to better my teaching skills or my techniques.  In 2009 I got won Instuctor of the Year, by Educational Funding Company.

A few hobbies of mine are horse back riding, golf, and just relaxing at the beach.

But of course Krav Maga is a hobby as well.  I love what I do and plan on doing it till I can't anymore...

I have been training in Martial Arts for over 20 years now.  I started age age 4 with my sister Stefanie.  I Started in a traditional system from Japan, and about 7 years later started Krav Maga.

I achieved my Black Belt in 2000.

I started helping my dad assisting on the floor at age 12 and fell in love with it.  Shortly after that I started taking my own group in the 5-7 year olds.  I then started teaching the Dragons, and youth, and eventually the teen and adult classes as well.

My Dad is my idol when it comes to Krav Maga,  I always wanted to be like him and still do.

I have trained all over the United States, participating in seminars and conventions, to become a better instructor. In 2009 I started the position of program director and loving it.

I am now expecting my first Baby.  My hobbies are spending time with my family and my dog Leo.

(Program Director & Instructor)

I have been a resident of Temecula since 2005. Back in August of 2007, a friend referred me to West Coast

Krav Maga. He had enrolled his children in the youth program and thought it was something that would suit me and my daughters. He was right! The first day I watched a class, I was hooked! My daughters were 8 and 13 at the time. The three of us girls decided to enroll in the program. After 4 years of hard work, all 3 of us have successfully achieved our black belts. The journey was amazing and rewarding on so many levels. The experience and influence it had on my life was life changing.

I started teaching at WCKM as a kickboxing instructor in the summer of 2011. I became a certified Krav Maga instructor after completing Phase A training at Krav Maga World Wide in October of 2011. Since then, I have also completed Phase B Instructor Certification, and I have dedicated my life to empowering our students with the knowledge and skills of Krav Maga. I believe is not only practical, but the best line of defense in any situation.

Fitness has always been a part of my life. I grew up playing sports and dancing for 8 years. I became a personal trainer and sports nutritionist in the spring of 2009. I truly enjoy teaching and empowering the lives of our students. I plan on continuing my training and certifications to the highest degree and look forward to the opportunity to be a part of our student’s growth and journey at West Coast Krav Maga.

Ericka Howard

(Program Director)

I have over 22 years of martial arts experience. After over 8 years of training and a black belt in the shorinru style I realized that I needed to study a more practical and applicable style of self defense and been training in Krav Maga since 2000.
In addition to being a NESTA and ISSA certified personal trainer, over the past 14 years I have achieved a student level second-degree black belt in addition to my  instructor level black belt certification (she is currently one of only 12 women worldwide to have achieved this level of certification within the Krav Maga Worldwide system) and has taught both kids and adults nationwide.
Along with Krav Maga I have also trained Brazilian Jiujitsu and am in the process of working towards a black belt in that style as well. I have been involved in all aspects of running a martial arts school starting when I was 17 years old and have been featured in the news, participated in all sorts of tournaments, shows, seminars and special events over the years. Krav Maga is my passion and I loves empowering others through their training.

In 2003, my oldest daughter (4 at the time) was at preschool when she was choked out by another student. I immediately spent the next week visiting every "martial arts" school in the Temecula/Murrieta area and came across West Coast Krav Maga. After meeting with the program director and watching my daughter take her first class, I knew that this was the place that was going to teach my daughters how to defend themselves. My girls were about 2 years into the program when my husband and I realized that this program was not just something for our girls but something we could both benefit from, so we also began training.

Since then, both of my daughters have earned the highest level of junior black belt and moved into that adult Krav Maga program. At 15 years old my oldest earned her Krav Maga Black Belt and my younger daughter is on her way there. I earned my black belt in 2011 I earned my black belt and came on as an assistant instructor completing Phase A training at Krav Maga Worldwide. I then erarned my 1st degree Black Belt in September of 2012.

I am a 100% believer in the power of the program we teach here. Both the adult program and the youth program changed our families life in the way we carry ourself, in how confident my daughters are in everything that they do and knowing that if you truly put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything. The lessons learned are invaluable and I am truly blessed to be a part of this schools role in empowering lives through Krav Maga!

I first heard about Krav Maga from a friend of mine.  I wanted to know more about it and researched it.  I found West Coast Krav Maga.  I went and watched a test, signed up that following Monday. I have been training since February 2012.  I have gone through phase A & B training at Krav Maga Worldwide Instructor Courses.  I am looking forward to going to C course later this coming year. I have been an instructor since November 2013.  I love teaching our students the most practical and efficient way to defend themselves against an attacker, and to have that mind set to get home safe! I look forward in the years to come to see where my training will take me.  I will be testing for my Black Belt in May 2015.  I am looking forward to achieving this goal.

Back in 2010 I started bringing my niece to her West Coast Krav Maga (WCKM) youth classes. My sister had enrolled her husband and all three of her children in the program. My sister needed help getting my niece to her earlier classes and with my flexible schedule it was easy to help my sister out. I had studied Tae Kwon Do in the past and notice a huge difference from the traditional martial arts and this self-defense program (Krav Maga) that uses martial arts among other things to truly defend yourself. After taking my first class I was hooked! After 4 years and 3 months of hard work, I successfully achieved a black belt. My journey here at WCKM has been truly awesome on multiple levels. This life changing experience has influence me to become a better me. In 2012 I went through the Instructor Prep Training at WCKM and have been joyfully assisting in the Krav classes ever since.
